Terms of Service

By using Signature Identifier you agree to these terms. If you don’t, please don’t use the service.

Signature Identifier is an AI-assisted reading tool for handwritten signatures. It drafts a structured dossier (signer, period, medium, market, preservation, etc.) and, when a reference image is supplied, runs a side-by-side similarity comparison.

By using Signature Identifier, you also agree to the terms outlined in our AI Identification Disclaimer. The Disclaimer includes important information about the limitations of our AI-powered identifications and of every other piece of information presented on Signature Identifier — including the encyclopedia, reference pages, guides, articles, and community submissions — all of which may contain errors, omissions, or outdated information and must not be relied on as expert, safety, medical, legal, or financial advice. The Disclaimer is an integral part of these Terms, and your use of Signature Identifier is subject to your acceptance of both.

Signature Identifier may include an encyclopedia, reference pages, guides, articles, and other informational content (“Reference Content”). Reference Content is compiled and generated with the help of automated tools and AI models and is provided for general informational purposes only. It may contain errors, omissions, or outdated information, and it has not been reviewed by qualified experts. We make no representation or warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any Reference Content or of any other information presented on Signature Identifier, and you agree not to rely on it as a substitute for professional advice or for any decision that could affect your health, safety, property, legal rights, or finances. Images shown with Reference Content may be illustrative rather than exact matches. If you believe something is wrong, please let us know at support@identifysignature.com and we will review it.

Signature Identifier is not an authentication service. Readings are AI-generated opinions and may be wrong — sometimes confidently wrong. Do not make legal, financial, purchase, or forensic decisions based on a dossier alone. Route signatures with real weight through PSA, JSA, Beckett, or a certified document examiner.

You agree to:

• Only upload content you have the right to submit.
• Not misuse the service or attempt to bypass its limits.
• Not upload unlawful, harmful, or abusive content.
• Respect the intellectual property rights of others.

You retain ownership of images you upload. By submitting, you grant us the limited license we need to process the images, generate a dossier, store the result, and — if you mark the dossier public — display it in the community archive. Our software, models, and brand remain ours. The full license you grant us is described in the section titled “License Grant to Signature Identifier” below.

By using Signature Identifier and its related apps, websites, and services (the “Services”), you grant to Signature Identifier, its successors, and assigns a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, sublicensable, no-charge, royalty-free, irrevocable copyright license to use, copy, reproduce, process, adapt, modify, publish, transmit, prepare derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, sublicense, and/or distribute any content you submit, create, or make available through the Services — including without limitation the photos and images you upload for identification; the notes, descriptions, locations, and other text you provide with them; the identifications, descriptions, estimates, and any other output produced by the Services at your direction; any collections, lists, or albums you assemble, including their names and the selection and arrangement of the items they contain; and your profile information, including your username, display name, profile picture, bio, and any links you add — regardless of whether an identification’s or collection’s visibility is public or private. This includes the right to display your uploaded photos and identifications on the community feed, on encyclopedia, species, tag, and search pages, on the websites and apps of Signature Identifier and its affiliates, and in marketing for the Services. For clarity, changing an identification’s or a collection’s visibility from public to private does not revoke or limit the license granted under this section with respect to that identification, that collection, or any content associated with it. The license granted to Signature Identifier remains in effect even after termination of this Agreement by any party, for any reason.

Signature Identifier is provided “as is” without warranties. We are not liable for damages arising from your use of the service, including reliance on a dossier or a comparison verdict.

We may update these terms. Continued use after changes means you accept the new terms.
